The boiler room design has never been so accurate yet so simple
PipeCad is the most advanced software for the Piping System Design with graphic input AutoCAD® compatible. Fully integrated in the Mc4Suite 2008, PipeCad possesses great ease for input, automatically selects and sizes all fittings, and can quickly create and render different design views and legends. This easily reduces the time needed to produce a boiler room executive drawing and is why it represents the pinnacle of design productivity. |

With PipeCad 2008, the designer can draw a boiler room using the furnished archives of components and, the parametric solid model permits us to show it in a realistic way. Integrated in Mc4Suite 2008, PipeCad is able to easily draw the boiler room spaces and, it is sufficient to use the Mc4Suite 2008 Architect objects (commands). Any boiler room components can be placed inside the space in a simple and natural way. The pipe fittings are calculated and inserted automatically according to the pipes dimensions and pipe net system (supply or return net) |
Input It is possible to draw the boiler room spaces using the Mc4Suite 2008 Architect commands, if required. Each object can be placed, in the plan view, with just one mouse click. The third coordinate (Z coordinate) can be set in two different ways: relative to the floor of the current level, or absolute coordinate. If an architectural plan is available, it is advisable to use the first method, otherwise, without an architectural plan, the second method must be used. To insert the heavy components, such as a boiler, chiller, tank, base pump, it is enough to specify the rotation angle on the XY plane. To insert the in-line components, such as valves, instruments of measure, in-line pumps, etc., the user needs only the rotation angle referring to its axis - the direction of this axis is the same as the connected component’s axis. The user can draw the pipe net in a three-dimensional environment. In order to simplify the input, the program contains several functions; consequently an inexperienced user also can use it. PipeCad will insert the elbow, the tee, and generally all the fittings, automatically. The user then can customize them choosing the type of the fitting, and setting the radius of the curvature, the reduction angle of transition fittings, etc. The type of junction between two pipes depends on the user’s choice. Instead, the type of junction between pipe and component depends on the component itself. The available types of junctions are: flanged, welded, threaded male or female, tightening. Using PipeCad the graphical representation of objects is very realistic.
Graphical representation and material list production The graphical representation with solid models gives us all views necessary to build the boiler room. A label is connected to each object inserted in the drawing. The label contains descriptive data about the object, such as the abacus code used to create the components list. In addition, some AutoCAD® command, like a dimension system or layout sheet, helps us to obtain an optimum result. In order to generate the material list, the user can link one or more price codes to the single object. PipeCad already contains several price lists and the user can create others. The program calculates the quantity of the object and generates a report file in MSExcel or MSWord format.
Archives Actually, the program contains about 1500 objects produced by various boiler manufacturers; the user can modify these records as needed. The graphical representation of the objects is most accurate and professional. In order to obtain a fast representation on the screen during the design, the user can set the number of the 3D faces for each solid object. |
